The load index and speed symbol after the size are part of the replacement decision. XL, LT, load range, run-flat and manufacturer OE markings can also matter.
Read the DOT date code
The final four digits of the DOT tire identification number give the manufacturing week and year. Tire age is one factor among condition, wear, damage and manufacturer guidance.
